COMMUNITY USE:

Children
The HRC’s extensive children's section includes books, journals, CD’s, models, audio and videotapes. These items are written from a child's point of view. The library has educational kits that cover selected topics such as asthma or exercise.

Young Adult
The Young Adult area includes materials geared for teenagers such as drug awareness, self help, teen pregnancy prevention, and much more.

Adult
Our community collections for adults cover most medical topics and issues ranging from psycho-social concerns such as stress and anxiety, to chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer and AIDS.
Please contact us for tours or educational opportunities for your community group

Professional Use
The Health Resource Center also has a professional section on our second level. Originally the Dr. Max Mass Collection, this collection of professional healthcare materials has been expanded and includes an excellent collection of medical journals, up to date medical books, and medical videos and CD’s.

Our Professional materials also include access to The Georgia Interactive Network (GaIN) for Medical Information. This is a non-profit, university-based electronic health care information network. Centered at the Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) in Macon, Georgia, GaIN was established in 1983 with a National Library of Medicine grant. It is an interactive network offering a wide range of information services to member health care institutions. GaIN is also a partner and collaborator in many statewide educational, health care and information access programs.
